Frequently Asked Questions*
Q. How can the professional Insurance Loss and Restoration Services provided by Champion help me? A. Insurance claims can be very complicated and usually have a lot of moving parts. Champion understands the entire insurance claim process and we are willing to work with the insurance company for you. Our skilled professionals are fully trained and experienced in all aspects of the insurance claim and are highly skilled in identifying and repairing the damages caused by hail, wind, fire and floods. Q. How much does this service cost? A. Our Insurance Loss and Restoration Services are FREE! We only ask that you sign a contingency contract with us that will allows us to do the repair work for the replacement cost value that the insurance company approves. Q. What are the benefits of signing a contingency contract? A. The benefit of a contingency contract is that your total out-of-pocket expense is known before you sign the contract. With our Insurance Restoration Contracting Agreement, we assume any risk with regards to rising costs of labor and materials and your total out-of-pocket expense will never exceed the amount of your deductible plus any applicable co-insurance as determined by your insurance policy. Furthermore, if your claim is denied, then the contract is void.
Q. Shouldn’t I just get 3 bids and give the work to the lowest bidder? A. No. You should choose your contractor based on the quality of their workmanship, the value of their service and the length and type of warranty. Your building is a valuable asset and should be repaired properly using quality materials and labor. Your mortgage company and your insurance carrier expect you to repair your property with materials and labor of like, kind and quality, which is why it is important to select a quality contractor that can perform the work in a professional and timely manner. Regardless of which contractor you choose, your only out-of-pocket expense is your deductible and any co-insurance if applicable; therefore your decision should be based upon quality and service, not price. The lowest bidder might not agree!
Q. How do I know you are a reputable contractor? A. Check our references! We are the preferred contractor for a number of large commercial property managers and owners and have an impeccable reputation in our industry. Our work speaks for itself. Q. How does Champion determine the scope of work and pricing? A. Champion works directly with your insurance company adjuster to determine a scope of work and cost for your repairs. Champion engages in fair and responsible pricing models and we utilize Xactimate Software (the same software used by most insurance companies) to determine the fair market price for your repairs. Q. Will my rates go up if I file a claim? A. The laws in most states prevent insurance companies from raising rates for weather related claims or “Acts of God”. So if your claim is for an event like hail, hurricane or tornado then the law prohibits the insurance company from using this against you when determining your premiums. Q. My insurance adjuster has already inspected my property and says there is no damage. A. Maybe you don’t have any damage, but consider this. Immediately after a natural disaster such as hail, tornado or hurricane insurance adjusters are extremely busy. Many times these adjusters overlook things. Additionally, under most insurance policies, it is the responsibility of the insured to prove their damage, this is why it is important to have someone with experience on your side, someone that works FOR YOU. Champion offers FREE inspection services, so you have nothing to lose by letting us take a second look.
Q. Will Champion perform all of the work? A. Yes, we are a full-service Contractor. Unlike many companies we COMPLETELY repair your building to its pre-loss condition. When a storm such as hail, hurricane or tornado happens the most obvious damage will be sustained to the roof, however these perils almost always cause a considerable amount of damage to other building components as well. While a roofer will only repair your roof, Champion can repair your entire building to its pre-loss condition.
